# KSKB, the KERISuite Knowledge Base > A curated register of the sources of the KERI suite (KERI, Key Event Receipt Infrastructure; ACDC, Authentic Chained Data Containers; CESR, Composable Event Streaming Representation): 823 cards as of this build, each a title, a maintainer, a date, a link, a neutral abstract written by the curator, a reading level and an evidence label. ## What the base is In the words of the site's About page: every card, abstract, label, date and link is the shared copy of the base as it stands (823 cards); the entry pages are generated from the cards by the same code that builds the reader page; the roles and their questions come from the vocabulary; the rules on the behind-the-scenes pages are the card's fields, the two labels, the review, the build and the tiers; the licenses are the Apache License 2.0 for the code and Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) for the content, with the sources' own licenses untouched and followed. The site is built from the base's files by a script and has been live at kskb.dev since 30 October 2026; the research is the community's, and the sources are theirs. The cards are meant to be corrected. KSKB is Mark Scott's work, with thanks to KERISSE, Kor Dwarshuis's and Henk van Cann's search engine, whose dataset is the source of the documents the site indexes. ## How it is built The files are the master: a register with one card per item, the notes, and the vocabularies, in git. One script reads them and writes two SQLite databases, a local one with everything and a shared one with what may travel (the partner tier); a gate stops the build if anything above that tier would reach a page. The site, the developer view, the Datasette databases and this export are all built from the shared database, so a correction to a card reaches every view at the next build. The site's Behind the scenes pages say the rest: - https://kskb.dev/#card The card behind every line: the fields, which are required, which are checked - https://kskb.dev/#labels The two labels: reading level (introductory, practitioner, implementer, normative) and evidence (normative, official, code, informative, presenter-reported, vendor-reported, unverified) - https://kskb.dev/#review Review and sharing: how a card is written, reviewed, shared and corrected - https://kskb.dev/#build The build: from the files to the two databases to the pages - https://kskb.dev/#access Access: the four labels on the files and the four tiers of reader - https://kskb.dev/#license Licenses, and no lock-in ## Where the data is - The export, one object per card (JSON, JavaScript Object Notation): https://kskb.dev/export/kskb-cards.json - One Markdown file per card, the same fields as front matter and the abstract as the body: https://kskb.dev/export/cards/.md - A prerendered page per card, with OpenGraph tags and a JSON-LD (JSON for Linking Data) schema.org CreativeWork: https://kskb.dev/cards// (a browser is sent on to the app's card route, https://kskb.dev/#item/; add ?noapp to stay on the page) - The shared database, one SQLite file, downloadable: https://kskb.dev/kskb.sqlite (its Datasette metadata: https://kskb.dev/metadata.yml) - The database served by Datasette: https://kskb.dev/data/kskb/ with one JSON endpoint per table, for example https://kskb.dev/data/kskb/resources.json?_shape=array (the tables: resources, resource_topics, resource_roles, resource_authors, levels, evidence, types, statuses, access, topics, roles, notes, links, documents, document_sources, build); one record: https://kskb.dev/data/kskb/resources/.json - The text search over the documents whose license allows their text: https://kskb.dev/data/kskb-text/ (the saved query "Search the text": https://kskb.dev/data/kskb-text/search_the_text?q=; one document: https://kskb.dev/data/kskb-text/document_text/) - The sitemap: https://kskb.dev/sitemap.xml - The developer view, the cards as records: https://kskb.dev/dev/ - The repository of the deployed site: https://github.com/markoscott/mini-kskb (the front end: https://github.com/markoscott/kskb-site) ## Licenses - KSKB's own text (the abstracts, the reading levels and evidence labels, the notes, the vocabularies, this file and the export's own fields): Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0), https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/. Credit "KSKB, the KERISuite Knowledge Base (https://kskb.dev/)". - Each source keeps its own license, recorded per card as source_license where the database has it, and travels with its card. What the site shows of a source's text follows that license, source by source: the specifications under the Open Web Foundation Agreement 1.0 (OWFa 1.0), the implementations under the Apache License 2.0, the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation's (GLEIF) documents under Creative Commons Zero (CC0), eSSIF-Lab's under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) are shown in full under a credit line; a page with no published license gets an abstract and a link. - Conversation (issues, pull requests, chat archives) is never republished. - The code: Apache License 2.0. ## Contact markoscott@id4all.me.
