# Why a new prescription is needed for healthcare's chronic trust problem

An opinion article in Health Data Management arguing that legacy trust tools such as digital certificates and OAuth leave gaps in cross-organizational health data exchange. Using the post-2008 Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) system as a precedent, it presents the verifiable LEI (vLEI), a credential built on KERI (Key Event Receipt Infrastructure), as an alternative, and says groups including CARIN Alliance and DirectTrust are evaluating it.
