# Self Sovereign Identity can do just fine, blockchain-less

An article by science journalist Krijn Soeteman arguing that self-sovereign identity (SSI) does not need a blockchain. It explains KERI's self-certifying identifiers, key event logs, pre-rotation, delegation and witnesses for a general audience and contrasts them with ledger-based systems.
