# The Hitchhiker's Guide to KERI, parts 1 to 3

The first of a three-part introductory blog series, answering why one would adopt KERI. It traces digital identity from centralized and federated models to blockchain-based decentralized identity and argues that KERI, having no distributed consensus mechanism, avoids the blockchain trilemma, for newcomers.

Labels: reading level Introductory; evidence informative (an author's paper, deck, tutorial or post explaining the suite).
