# Intent and Boundaries

A 2025 article by Daniel Hardman on intent in digital systems, setting out a mental model of intent and boundaries and four principles: recognize boundaries, consider moving rather than crossing them, consider peeking across them, and never sneak across them. It argues that respecting these boundaries preserves user agency and trust.
