# Identity Facets

A 2026 primer by Daniel Hardman arguing that identity is about sameness across time and across the facets of a life, that the sameness across facets should be visible only to its owner, and that facets are minted by relationships. It explains why organizational capacity (signing as citizen or as CEO) determines liability, why credentials have an affinity for a facet, and why opaque identifiers per facet need naming and visual verification tools.
