# did:webs Task Force meeting, 2026-08-18

The did:webs specification was reported ready for final review and approval, with the implementation needing to catch up. Discussion covered needed specification changes, restarting the DIF (Decentralized Identity Foundation) Recommended DID (decentralized identifier) Methods process (issue 212), and the history of the resolver's placement in Hyperledger Labs. Action items included a reconciliation of the normative specification language against the Python reference implementation and a version 2 example.

Labels: reading level Practitioner; evidence official (a statute, a regulator's document, or a standards body's own page).
